Communities of Engaged Learners

 
President Sederburg recently announced that 90 new full-time positions will be filled during the 2007-2008 budget year. Many of the new positions will be publicly recruited. All publicly recruited positions will be listed on the employment site as they become available. Interested parties should refer to www.uvsc.jobs for current openings. Positions not listed on the employment site are not currently accepting applicants.

New positions included in the budget for 2007-08:

40 faculty including 32 new salaried faculty in Art/Visual Communications, Aviation Science, Behavioral Science, College Success, Communications, Community Health, Criminal Justice, Dance, Developmental Math, Earth Science, Education, History/Political Science, Languages, Legal Studies, Music, Physical Education, and Physics; department administrative assistants in Developmental Math, Business Management, Art/Visual Communications, and Behavioral Science

16 academic and support advisors in Athletics, Behavioral Science, Business Management, General Academics/Career & Academic Counseling, Pre-Nursing/Pre-Dental/Career & Academic Counseling, Career Services/Student Employment, Communications/Art, Community Health/PE, Languages/History, Math/Learning Strategist, Transfer Services, Multicultural (Hispanic)/Outreach, One Stop

14 instructional/academic support staff

20 student/institutional support staff

Total: 90 total new positions

The kind of people we are looking for are supportive of building communities of engaged learners.

We are looking for people who exhibit the following traits:

a) enjoy working with students
b) wish to join other professionals in collaborative efforts to improve teaching, scholarship and creative activity
c) exhibiting outstanding scholarship and creativity and are willing to involve students in scholarly work
d) willing to partner with the broader community in improving society and making education relevant to our students
e) excelling in teaching and mentoring of students and fellow professionals
f) willing to move to Utah.
