Rape Recovery Center -
needs dedicated and caring advocate volunteers. Rape recovery advocates assist survivors of sexual violence with short and long term recovery needs and educate the community about the realities of sexual assault. Volunteers will be involved in the 24-hour crisis line, 24-hour hospital response team, community education team. Rape recovery advocates must complete a 40 hour training learning about sexual assault, rape culture, crisis intervention, medical and legal resources, and victim advocacy. Advocates will earn certification from UCASA (Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault). The next 40 hour training is MAY 6th -17th, 2008! Center for Women and Children In Crisis
- There is a volunteer training coming up with the Center for Women and Children In Crisis.  We need volunteers for the Rape Crisis Team and for the Domestic Violence Women's Shelter.  At the shelter we provide group therapy for both women and children, there’s a homework club, and we need people who love to be a positive role model for children who have experienced domestic violence.  The Rape Crisis Team needs volunteers to be on call for a 48 hour shift each month.  Volunteers meet with rape victims at the hospital, or speak with them over the phone.  These volunteers must have a car.  We require between 12-40 hours of training depending on the position, a BCI check, positive attitude and dependability.  We would like a 6 month commitment.  We are very flexible in the shifts for volunteers.  The Rape Crisis Training (40 hrs.) is on April 29th, from 5-10 pm; May 1, 5-10 pm; Sat. May 3, from 9am-5 pm, May 6, from 5-10 pm, May 8 from 5-10 pm, and Sat. May 10 from 9am -5pm.  The Shelter Training (12 Hrs.) is on May 13th and 15th from 6-9pm and Saturday May 17 from 9am-4pm.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver - For male students only! This is a great and fun opportunity to travel and get some great experience this summer! The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver - Gates Camp is looking for motivated and hard-working individuals with a strong interest in working with youth "at risk". Staff members must be at least 18 years of age. Former camp experience or experience with special populations is helpful. Skills in our activity areas are also helpful, and these include: rock climbing, high and low ropes courses, challenge initiatives, canoeing, fishing, archery, nature games, handicrafts, horseback riding, and electives contingent upon staff interests and creativity. Persons who are interested should be fit, willing, and able to participate in all activity areas. A willingness to sing and play an instrument is also very helpful!
Benefits: Camp staff earn $150 to $180 a week, plus room and board for the summer. Internships are available.
Staff Commitment: Staff members must commit for nine weeks (1 week of training and 8 weeks of camp sessions). Staff training begins May 29th and the next week camp sessions begin until August 2nd. Staff members are on duty from Sunday at 5:30 pm to Friday at 4:00 pm each week. Staff members have weekends off and may stay at camp or leave the property.

Willow Creek (a co-ed, fully accredited therapeutic boarding school) is hiring energetic, mature, mentor staff for their day, evening, and weekend shifts. Role model healthy relationships within our student's basic living structure. Family Support & Treatment Center: Weekend houseparents needed to care for at-risk children from newborn to age 11 in crisis nursery.  Position is filled by sets of two adults; both must apply together.  You may bring one child of your own.  Shifts are 24 hours: Friday 6pm to Saturday 6pm, or Saturday 6pm to Sunday 6pm (1-2 shifts per month).  Call the Family Support & Treatment Center at 229-1181 and ask for Jill, for information about the position or about applying.  We will be accepting applications through March 28. Provo House of Hope:
There is a job opportunity to work at the House of Hope in Provo. The House of Hope is a residential substance abuse treatment facility for women with drug addiction. The women who live at he House of Hope have the opportunity to have their children live with them while they receive treatment. It is a great place to help these women become empowered and leave their addiction.  The women learn parenting skills, healthy living skills, and how to do life without drugs.  It is a place where you can feel that you really make a difference. We are currently looking to hire for two positions to work as Support Staff part-time (16-32 hours a week) graveyard shifts (11:00 pm – 7:30 am) during the week (M-F) as well as daytime (7:00 am-3:30 pm) for the weekend shift (Sat. & Sun.).  The pay starts out at $8.00/hour and provides good social work experience that looks great on a resume.  The positions are to be filled by female applicants because of the necessity to monitor drug testing through out the day and at night. Duties include: answering phone calls, monitoring medications, administering urine analysis, working with clients in crisis, modeling healthy behavior for the clients, holding clients accountable to follow the rules, keeping accurate documentation of your shift, typing up group notes for the therapists and counselors, filing paperwork. Structured Foster Homes: 3 mo-1yr, $750/mo (may increase with experience), Provide day to day care and coordinates transportation to and from appointments. Respite care available.
The Focus Program: About 4 months, $600/mo (may increase with experience), Youth in Focus Program attend school, weekday activities, and group therapy until 9pm. The Center for Women and Children in Crisis, Inc. - Volunteer with the Utah County Rape Crisis Team! Volunteers attend 40 hours of state mandated training on victim's advocacy and crisis intervention. Upon completion of the training, volunteers are scheduled to carry a pager once a month for 48 hours during which time they are on-call to assist victims of sexual assault and their friends, family, and loved ones at the hospitals, police stations, and over the phone. Alliance: Eaton Alliance in Orem is a service provider/residential care facility for mentally disabled individuals. They are a small company with 2-3 individuals in their care. They are very hands on with their employees and would offer great support. They have 1-2 staff positions available and 1-2 volunteer positions available. The staff position would start at $8.00/hr with about 30-80 hours a week (staff employees often spend the night with the resident under their care). The shifts and hours vary and often include over night hours and weekends. The volunteer opportunity will range from about 2-6 hours a week.
