Utah Valley State College
Career & Academic Counseling Center -- About Us

Intended Administrative Objectives

October 2005-November 2007

  • Research and develop the New Century Scholarship advising program in order to assist students with decision making regarding the scholarship and to support students towards completion.  Part of this process includes seeking to obtain funding for a position specifically designated to advise these students within the CACC.
  • Develop and implement an intrusive advising program, in conjunction with the school of general academics, to encourage undecided students to use CACC resources and declare a major.
  • Using Banner, develop reports for identifying students on warning, probation, and suspension, automate the placement of holds, and provide easier access to students regarding information about holds and how to resolve these so as to diminish the number of inquiries resulting from holds.
  • Strengthen the online advising program by increasing the number of advisors who can access the program, increasing student users, and maintaining high satisfaction levels.
  • Research and develop a system to better respond to student inquiries by phone that diminishes the need for students to leave voicemail messages.
