Keynote Speaker: Sanchaita Datta

Utah Valley University is pleased to announce the 22nd Annual Expanding Your Horizons Conference being held on Saturday, March 1, 2008, from 7:30am-1:00pm in the UVU Sorensen Student Center. This is a math/science/technology career conference for 6th to 12th grade girls from Utah and its surrounding states. Each year around 1,000 girls, parents, and educators come to learn about careers and education opportunities in a variety of high-paying career fields from professionals in those fields.

Girls will be able to attend three breakout sessions, choosing from 48 different career fields ranging from Astronomy, Dentistry, Medicine, Rocket & Space Science, to Forensic Science and many more. Parents and teachers are also encouraged to attend with their girls and enjoy special workshops on how to help girls succeed in their educational and career pursuits. The conference will also feature interactive booths from various UVU departments and community organizations that will give girls the opportunity to explore additional career fields.

Registration is $25.00 each for Girls and Parents/Educators. Please contact the Equity in Education Center regarding scholarships for low-income girls.
