UVU Turning Point Brings Life Skills to the Community
OREM, UTAH- Turning Point: Center for Personal and Career Development is offering two life skills classes this summer. These classes are offered through the non-profit UVU School of Continuing Education program, in Orem beginning in July. These popular courses teach management techniques that will provide struggling individuals with the necessary skills to successfully conquer difficult life events and transitions such as job loss and marriage problems. The courses offered this summer are: Managing Life Transitions and Anger Management.
In Managing Life Transitions, which begins on July 10, students learn how to deal with crisis and transition due to death, divorce, separation, and abandonment. The class focuses on helping participants move toward independence and personal responsibility.
Anger Management, which begins July 18, covers physical and psychological elements of anger, understanding domestic violence, and more. The course focuses on understanding what triggers anger and appropriate methods of resolving conflict.
Classes are held in Orem, and scholarships are available to low income students. Students should register soon, because classes fill quickly. For more information or to register, please call Cindy at (801) 863-7580.
