Being the department chair of College Success and Academic Literacy (CSAL) is both a challenge and a great adventure. Our wide range of courses taught by a strong and diverse faculty offer opportunities for a wide range of students. Whether students are just entering college, have transferred from another institution, are returning after years away from school, are learning English as a second language, or are confident or worried about college, our department offers something for everyone.

We meet students where they are and help them move to higher levels of academic confidence and expertise. Part of our mission is to help students stay in school and be very successful while they are here.
