How to Help Your Students

Our mission is to help college students "develop job search skills leading to student employment,
meaningful careers and service to society."

Employment

• On-campus Student Employment
• Internships
• To receive co-op credit, check the listing of internship and co-op advisors
• All off-campus jobs are posted on the UV Job Board
• Resume building assistance, FREE to UVSC students at: http://uvsc.optimalresume.com/
• Encourage all students, including alumni, to attend Career Fairs
• Personal ads cannot be posted through our office. These are positions like personal housekeepers. Individuals who wish to post these kinds of positions may post them on one of two bulletin boards located on campus. One is located in the Business hall. The other is located in the dining room adjacent to "La Esquina" and "Hogi Yogi."

UV Job Board

• On campus, work study, off campus, internships, full and part-time jobs are all posted on the UV Job Board
• Students may search for jobs, upload resumes into the system, apply for positions they are interested in, and find useful job search tips
• Students can get a username and password by going to the UV Job Board and following instructions on the login page
• The UV Job Board also offers a Mentoring component to help students connect with individuals willing to help them refine their job search skills
• A Student Guide for using the UV Job Board is also available

Career Counselors

• Each career counselor from our office has been assigned to an academic school at UVSC. Click here to find information on how to contact the counselors in our office.
• Interested students may make an appointment to meet with the counselor from their particular school to receive help with their job search, resume, cover letter, interviewing skills, and other related topics.
