Follow the steps outlined below to get college credit for your internship. If you are pursuing a non-credit internship, you may also use this checklist as a guide.
Make an appointment with Career Services & Student Employment 801-863-6364.
Meet with your Internship Coordinator in your department.
Identify internship sites that match your skills, interests and goals.
Develop a resume and cover letter and prepare for interviews.
Schedule interviews with prospective Site Supervisors and ensure the experience provider has completed a Master Agreement with the Office of Internship Services.
Discuss your ability to gain academic credit for your internship with your Department Internship Coordinator and register for the internship.
Complete the online internship orientation and quiz.
Complete an Internship Learning Agreement and/or other required documents with your Internship Department Coordinator and obtain required signatures.
Arrange to meet and/or communicate with your Internship Department Coordinator throughout the semester.
Meet with your Site Supervisor to discuss and sign your Performance Evaluation if required. Return the Performance Evaluation to your Internship Department Coordinator.
Complete the Online Student Evaluation and any other documents required by your Internship Department Coordinator.
