FALL 2008 SCHOLARSHIP AUDITIONS

Scholarship Auditions for Ballet, Ballroom and Modern Dance will be held Saturday, January 26, 2008 on the UVSC campus.

Registration:    7:00 a.m.-7:30 a.m.
Auditions:       7:30 a.m.-12:00 noon
Location:        PE 154

ATTENTION New and Transfer Students: For General Academic Scholarships, make sure you apply for admission, as well as submit your grade transcript and ACT score to the Scholarship Office, phone 801-863-8443 or fax 801-863-8448 by February 1, 2008. If you are only interested in auditioning for a Dance Scholarship, you will still need to apply for admission to the college by February 1, 2008.

You should have with you at the audition: 1. Completed Scholarship Application (available at the audition) 2. Letter of Recommendation (if you have not taken dance classes at UVSC) 3. Letter of Intent - one typewritten page (limit 2500 characters) explaining personal interests, professional goals, and reason for choosing area of emphasis and 4. Current Transcript.

Ballroom: Men are to wear a tie and nice fitting clothing. Women are to wear a skirt or dress. You must have dance shoes. Must bring a partner; partner does not need to be an applicant. You will need to supply your own music. Must bring two separate routines. One routine must be International Latin or American Rhythm and the other International Standard or American Smooth. If you choose, you may substitute a Cabaret for either of the above. Routines will be videotaped for further evaluation. You will be notified of awards within one month. You will have to complete a scholarship application, which will be made available at the time of the audition.
