INSTRUCTOR: Davis, Fred - View Detail

PREREQUISITES:

DESCRIPTION: This is a comprehensive course which covers the entire Uniform Mechanical Code. Students will gain a working knowledge of requirements for mechanical systems, including heating, cooling, ducts, ventilation, refrigeration, kitchen hood and ducts, fuel-gas piping, appliance venting, combustion air, and related requirements.

GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENT FULFILLMENT:

OBJECTIVES: This class will help you to correctly and effectively use the International Mechanical Code (IMC) book and interpret code. We will be using the 2000 edition of the IMC. In this class, you will learn to locate references in the code book. It sounds easy, but it takes practice! In addition to being able to locate references in the code book, we are going to review the correct interpretation of these references so that you will be able to apply them properly. These skills will serve you well as an inspector, contractor, architect, engineer, or any other type of building professional. All contractors and building professionals that work with HVAC should own and know how to use a copy of the IMC. That's one of the responsibilities of being a license holder in the State in which you work.
