Self- and Peer-Assessments

In this course you will often have to complete a peer- or self-assessment as part of your weekly project for 10% of your Projects grade. A self-assessment is done immediately after you submit your own project. A peer-assessment is done after the due date, and peer projects have been randomly distributed.

Peer- and self-assessments are done via the class web site using the same page you use to upload and submit your projects.

The first thing to note about peer or self assessments is that the project page itself shows the start and end of submission dates (circled in red):

Self Assessment

In order to complete a peer or self assessment, you must have submitted your own project AND you must wait for the assessment start date to come along (though this should never really be a problem). Then just click the "Assess" link (circled in green above).

After clicking on the "Assess" link you will find my scoring rubric in the upper frame, with a hyperlink to the project itself in the lower frame. Download and open the project to view it, and then work through the scoring of it using each criteria that I've provided.

In order to get full points for peer-/self-assessments you must be as accurate in your scoring as possible and provide written comments on relevant criteria justifying why you scored a project the way you have.

If you don't see the Assess link you should check to see if you're either past or prior to the assessment period.
