2007-2008 Academic Year

We are delighted you are interested in attending Utah Valley State College. Your application for aid is welcome. This information is for the Ballroom Dance Company Tuition Waiver Scholarship. Full, half and quarter Tuition Waiver Scholarships are available to students who meet the following conditions:

Be a Utah resident, paying resident tuition and fees. (Unless applying for an Out of State Scholarship)
Be a high school graduate and have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5 for Exceptional Performer scdholarship or at least a 3.0 or above to be considered for a Dean's Merit scholarship, and be a continuing student who has completed a minimum of 12 credit hours and has a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
Be approved by the academic school in which the scholarship is offered.
Be a member of the Ballroom Tour team in good standing.
Be registered for the Ballroom Tour team and applicable technique classes.
Do not have a previous semester scholarship default.
Be enrolled as a Full time student (12 credit hours) each term the award covers.

Scholarship auditions for 2007-2008 academic year will be held Saturday, 27 January 2007, at 7:00 a.m. in Studio PE 154 on UVSC Orem Campus. Applicants must come prepared to perform two (2) Ballroom dance routines of their choice. Dance rourtines need to include one standard or smooth and one latin or rhythm. You must provide your own partner and music. Costumes are optional. Applicants will be videotaped.

You will be notified regarding your application by the Ballroom Dance Program and or the Scholarship office. If you are offered a scholarship you will receive a "Scholarship Award and Acceptance Contract. That acceptance contract must be signed and dated by you and returned to the Ballroom Dance office. If you do not qualify, you will be so notified. Scholarships awards are contingent upon membership on the Tour Team. You must audition for the Tour Team at the beginning of Fall Semester.

Whether or not you qualify for this award you should consider applying for other financial aid. You may be able to receive additioinal help through the Pell Grant or other grants, scholarships, work study (part-time employment), or student loans.
