Q1. Are aliases available for UVLink/LinkMail e-mail addresses?

A1. Aliases are not available. LinkMail e-mail addresses are {UVID}@uvlink.uvu.edu.

Q2. How can I access my LinkMail e-mail in an e-mail client?

A2. The College prefers that you use UVLink to access e-mail, since UVLink is the official communication mechanism of the college. However, if you must read e-mail in another program (like GroupWise, Eudora, etc.), you may use IMAP4 (but not POP3) to connect to the mail server lummail.uvu.edu. UVID and Password are required to log in and authentication is required for sending messages.

A3. The college prefers that you use UVLink to access e-mail, since UVLink is the official communication mechanism of the college. No web-based access is provided outside of UVLink.

Q4. How can I forward my UVLink Email to another Email account?

A4. Steps follow:

1. Open UVLink
2. Choose E-Mail icon from button bar on top right
3. Choose Option Tab
4. Choose Auto Forward
5. Type the desired e-mail address in Auto Forward To
6. Choose “OK” button
7. All messages received in UVLink account will be forwarded and deleted from your UVLink account.

Q5. How can I view GroupWise Email in UVLink?

A5. Steps follow:

1. Open UVLink
2. Choose E-Mail icon from button bar on top right
3. Choose Options Tab
4. Choose Retrieve Other E-Mail
5. Under “Add Other Account”
6. Type “GroupWise” in Account Name
7. Choose “IMAP” in Account Type
8. Type “mail.uvsc.edu” in External Mail Server
9. Type your GroupWise e-mail address in E-Mail Address
10. Type your GroupWise UserName in User ID
11. Type your GroupWise Password in Password
12. Type your GroupWise Password in Confirm Password
13. Choose “OK” button
14. Choose E-Mail Tab
15. In the left column, click the arrow next to “GroupWise”
16. Be patient – it takes some time to open up GroupWise folder list
