Bob and Jill have had a close relationship for a year, when Bob suddenly breaks up with Jill. Months go by, during which Jill never sees nor hears from Bob. Jill goes on with her life, and becomes involved with another man.

After six months, Bob sends Jill an expensive watch, with a note that he would like to see her again.

Questions:

Should Jill keep the watch, even if she does not intend to go back to Bob?

Should she see Bob once, to explain that she does not want to begin a relationship with him again?

Does Bob owe Jill an explanation of his behavior?
