The Center for the Study of Ethics, under the auspices of the
Office of the Associate Vice President for Scholarship and Research, sponsors a Faculty
Fellows Program.
The purpose of the program is to encourage UVSC faulty members
in exploring the ethical dimensions of a variety of disciplines. Three
full-time faculty
Fellows are named per calendar year.Fellows are asked to:
(1) organize at least one panel discussion in their discipline for Ethics Awareness Week the third week of September,
(2) write three case studies about ethical challenges in their discipline to be posted on the Ethics Center Case Study Archive,
(3) write and submit a journal article or conference paper addressing the ethical dimensions of the Fellow’s discipline (the topic of the article may be related to research or pedagogy), and
(4) submit a report outlining how the Fellow plans on incorporating ethical topics into the curriculum.
Applications should include a cover letter stating interest in and qualifications for the fellowship, two letters of recommend, and a curriculum vitae.
Fellows receive a stipend equivalent to a reassigned workload from teaching one course for the duration of two semesters (Fall and Spring ). No more than one fellowship will be awarded to faculty from the same school.
