GRADUATION APPLICATION FAQs

Effective November 2007 - NEW On-line Graduation Application!

As student questions arise regarding the new on-line graduation application, this page will be updated.

Fill out the application for the lesser degree first. Degree Order (lowest to highest): One-Year Certificate (C1Y); Diploma (DIP), Associate in Applied Science (AAS), Associate in Arts/Science (AA/AS), and Bachelor (BA/BS/BFA).

If the lesser degree is not your declared major, choose "I am applying for a degree different than my declared major" then choose the appropriate program from the drop down menu. The catalog year may be the same as your current declared major.

When asked if continuing at UV within the next year and you will be applying for your declared major next, choose "Yes, I will continue with my declared Degree/Major." This will allow you to choose the "I am applying for my declared major" option during the next application. During the final application, choose the appropriate option when asked if continuing at UV within the next year.

HOW DO I GENERATE A DEGREE EVALUATION?

The Degree Evaluation lists requirements for a specific degree and contains courses a student has earned from UVSC plus accepted courses transferred from other institutions. There are three views in which the degree evaluation can be displayed:

• General Requirements - Lists a brief overview of the General Education, Major, Concentration and Minor academic requirements for the degree as well as the courses which are filling those areas.
• Detail Requirements (Recommended View) - Lists the specific General Education, Major, Concentration and Minor academic requirements (classes, hours, etc.) for the degree as well as the courses which are filling (or may be used to fulfill) each requirement.
• Additional Information - Lists courses that do not apply toward this specific degree, but may apply toward a different degree.

During the application there is a page which requires you to view a degree evaluation. To View A Degree Evaluation:

1. Click on the Degree Evaluation link;
2. In the pop-up window, click on Submit (you don't need to change the Term)
3. Generate New Evaluation OR What-if Analysis
   1. If applying for declared Program and Catalog Year
      1. Click on Generate New Evaluation (at bottom of page)
      2. Click on radial button for desired Program
      3. Select graduation application Term
   2. If applying for other Program and/or Catalog Year
      1. Click on What-if Analysis
      2. Select Entry Term (Catalog Year - refer to on-line graduation application page)
      3. Click on Continue
      4. Select Program (refer to on-line graduation application page)
      5. Click on Continue
      6. Select First Major
      7. If applying for Program with a Concentration (refer to on-line graduation application page)
         1. Click on Add More
         2. Select appropriate Concentration(s)
      8. Click on Submit
      9. Select Evaluation Term (graduation application term)
         
4. Click on Generate Request
5. Click on Detail Requirements
   
6. Click on Submit
7. If a requirement is listed in Red as Not Met, indicate how it will be met in the on-line graduation application system
8. Enter Degree Evaluation Request # in on-line graduation application system
   
9. When finished, CLOSE Detail Requirements window - DO NOT CLICK ON "EXIT"
10. Return to on-line graduation application system
