How do I view and control cookies in Internet Explorer?
How you view and control your cookies depends upon your operating system as well as your browser. To view your cookies and control your browser's cookie settings using Internet Explorer in Windows, follow the appropriate directions below:
Viewing your cookies
Internet Explorer 3.x or later
- From the
Tools menu, select Options or Internet Options... .
- For version 3.x, click the
Advanced tab. For version 4.x or later, from the General tab, click Settings... .
- Select
View Files... . You can identify your cookie files by looking beneath the "Internet Address" column for files that begin with Cookie: .
Changing your cookie settings
Internet Explorer 5.x
- From the
Tools menu, select Internet Options... .
- Choose the
Security tab.
- Select the Web content zone you want and click the
Custom Level... button. Scroll down the list to find the "Cookies" section.
- To customize settings for persistent cookies, beneath
Allow cookies that are stored on your computer, select the desired option. To customize settings for session cookies, beneath Allow per-session cookies (not stored), select the desired option.
- In the
Security Settings window, click OK. You will now be back in the Internet Options window. Click OK.
Internet Explorer 6.x
1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options....
2. Under the General tab you should find Temporary Internet Files.
3. From here you can Delete Cookies, or to view the cookies choose Settings.
4. From Settings you can view the cookies by choosing View Files.
5. After your done click OK until your back out of Internet Options.
