What is Clean Access?
Clean access
- Requires authentication to the network
- Checks whether the system connecting to the network meets the minimum security standards or not.
- Quarantines the system until it meets the minimum security standards.
- Provides sites for the user to fix security issues.
Once the system is validated as "clean," allows access to the network.
Who needs Clean Access?
Clean Access is only used for UVSCNet Wireless and the open wired ports. Clean Access is not used for the UVSCNet Dial-Up service.
How do I install Clean Access?
You will first need to sign up for UVSCWireless service then open a browser anywhere that on campus theat you can receive the wireless signal. Then you will be prompted to download the installation file from the Clean Access server. After the file has been copied to your computer you will be asked to click Next in order to proceed through the installation process. Once installation is finished, the Agent will pop up and ask you to log in.
Will this work for Mac or Linux?
Mac and Linux users will not be asked to download and install the Clean Access Agent. They will however be required to log in with their UV ID through the UVSC Clean Access website. Although there are no specific requirements for Mac and Linux, we do recommend that all users, regardless of operating system, install applicable security updates, use a firewall and run current anti-virus software on their computers.
How do I uninstall the Cisco Clean Access Agent?
Uninstalling the Clean Access is quite simple, and can be done through the Control Panel by clicking on Add/Remove Programs, selecting Clean Access, and clicking Remove.
Will Clean Access change settings on my computer?
The Clean Access is an unobtrusive program that communicates exclusively with the Clean Access servers to ensure that your computer is protected from malicious software. The Clean Access will not alter any settings on your computer, and should not interfere with normal functions.
Will my computer still work when I connect to my home network?
The Clean Access is only active while your computer is connected to the UVSC network. If you connect your computer to a different network, Clean Access will simply lie dormant and will absolutely not interfere with an attempt to connect.
