The Spell Check, Thesaurus, or Grammatik options are grayed out. The problem can occur in one or all three of the Writing Tools.

Run PFREG.EXE. Click on Start | Find | Files or Folders.

Type in the name of the file, PFREG.EXE, and search in the c: drive.

It is very important to run the correct registration file. When it finds the file PFREG.EXE, double-click on the file icon to run it.

The components will count down in the upper right had corner. A normal installation has over 30 components. Click on the Register button in the lower left corner of the dialog box.
