Corel 2000

In WordPerfect 8 and 9, how do I remove or change toolbar buttons?

WordPerfect 8 and 9 toolbars are fully configurable. You can change the position of the buttons and the icons for each button to your liking.

To edit the toolbars, follow these directions:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Settings.
  2. Double-click Customize.
  3. The first item selected is Toolbars. To configure a toolbar, select the toolbar you wish to change by clicking it. The name of the default toolbar corresponds to the version of WordPerfect installed (i.e., WordPerfect 8 or WordPerfect 9). The default toolbar contains the most commonly used buttons, such as Print, Save, and Open File.
  4. Click Edit. This will open the Toolbar Editor. While the Toolbar Editor is open, you can change the position of buttons by clicking and dragging them to the desired location. You can also add separators by clicking the Separator box, then dragging the separator to the desired location.
  5. To remove buttons, click and drag them off the toolbar and onto the document. The icon will change to a box being dropped into the trash. Release the mouse button to remove the icon from the toolbar.
  6. To add buttons for programs or macros, click the Programs or Macros tab in the Toolbar Editor. You can then click Add Button to choose a button. You will be prompted to browse for the program executable or macro file to attach to the button. When you have selected the file, click Open, and WordPerfect will automatically add the button to the selected toolbar.
  7. Click OK to close the Toolbar Editor, and then close the other windows.
