To rename the WP8US.WPT perform the following steps:

1. Press Start | Find | Files or Folders

3. Set the Look in box to point to the drive where Word Perfect 8 is installed

4. Right click the file labeled WP8US.WPT and press Rename.
5. Change the name to WP8US.BUF and press Enter.
