Global Engagement Services provides leadership and coordination for a wide range of activities designed to increase global awareness and international understanding for faculty, students and the UVSC community.

GES also seeks to identify and pursue appropriate internationally-oriented grants and act as a liaison with the Fulbright Commission for interested UVSC faculty, as well as for students and visiting scholars interested in such awards. During the past decade, the department has received and managed two major multi-year grants. The first, a Universities Affiliation grant, provided training at UVSC for more that 150 top educational administrators, faculty and government officials from Mongolia. The second, a National Security Education Program (NSEP) grant, provided training and internship opportunities designed to increase expertise related to China for students from the nine Utah Asian Studies Consortium (UCON) member institutions: Utah Valley State, the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, Weber State University, Utah State University, Westminster College, Southern Utah University, Salt Lake Community College and Snow College.
