AUGUST 2008

August 4th-AGENCY ASSIST- UVU Police assisted Orem Police with locating a assault suspect that had just left Walmart. The suspect was located at 200 W University Parkway by UVU Police. The suspect was issued a citation by Orem Police for Disorderly Conduct. UVU Police then issued the suspect a citation for Revoked Registration and impounded the suspect's vehicle.

August 10th- WARRANT SERVICE- While on routine patrol, Sgt Sprague observed a suspicious male near the Chevron located at 1200 S Geneva Rd. well after the business has closed for the night. After a brief investigation, it was determined the 23 year old male suspect had two warrants for his arrest. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail.

August 10th- WARRANT SERVICE- Officer Liddiard observed two suspicious males while on routine patrol of the Geneva Building. Upon further investigation, it was determined that one of the male suspects had a outstanding warrant. The 44 year old male suspect was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail.

August 12th- RUNAWAY- A 12 year old runaway approached Officer N. Smith and asked for the time. Due to the late hour, the Officer inquired as to why the juvenile was out on his own. The juvenile stated he had run away from a foster home in Kearns. Officer N. Smith was able to contact the case worker and the juvenile was turned over to the case worker's care.

August 15th- WARRANT SERVICE/ TRESPASS ORDER- UVU Police responded to a local apartment on follow up in regards to a Disorderly Conduct complaint from One Stop. The 21 year old male suspect was arrested on a outstanding warrant and booked into the Utah County Jail. The suspect was also trespassed from University property pending a psychiatric evaluation.

August 19th- DISORDERLY CONDUCT- UVU Police responded to the One Stop on a report of a adult male that was upset and hit a door jam on his way out. Officers located the suspect on the north side of campus. The suspect was warned for Disorderly Conduct and has been referred to Judicial Affairs through the Ombudsman's Office.

August 21st- ILLEGAL CONSUMPTION- A 18 year old female passenger in a vehicle was issued a citation for Illegal Consumption.

August 22nd- WARRANT SERVICE- A 30 year old female initially stopped by UVU Police was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail on two active warrants.

August 23, - ASSAULT- UVU Police responded to a report of a fight in progress at the Sorensen Student Center. Several suspects were taken into custody.

August 23rd- DUI- A 15 year old boy driving his parents vehicle approached a UVU Officer inquiring about a party. The Officer noted an odor of alcohol coming from the suspects breath. The juvenile was transported to Vantage Point and the vehicle was impounded.

August 25th- TRAFFIC ACCIDENT- A 42 year old male bicyclist was seriously injured in a accident involving a vehicle that turned in front of him on 1200 W and North College Drive. The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

August 26th- DISORDERLY CONDUCT- A UVU Student was trespassed from most of campus after becoming upset when he was turned down for Financial Aid.

August 30th- ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER- A UVU Police Officer was assaulted by a intoxicated woman during the Welcome Back Dance.  The woman was given a verbal warning and released to the custody of a sober friend to take her home.

August 30th- POSSESSION DRUG PARAPHERNALIA- UVU Officers arrested a adult passenger in a vehicle parked in lot N for possession of drug paraphernalia during the Welcome Back Dance.
