The latest Campus Forum was held on Monday, November 5th, 2007 at 3 p.m. in the Ragan Theater. TThe purpose was to update the campus about (a) the work of the university transition task force, (b) the new mission, role and values statements, (c) the implementation of the Communities of Engaged Learning Initiative, (d) the reorganization of academic schools and colleges, and (e) the PBA hearings later in November. All of these issues will have a significant impact on your involvement with UVSC as we move to Utah Valley University. The information was presented by Kathie Debenham, Cameron Martin, Linda Makin, Jack Christianson, Liz Hitch, and President Sederburg.
The Utah Legislature has unanimously passed SB070, granting UVSC university status, effective July 1, 2008! The bill was signed by Governor Huntsman on March 19th, 2007. I thank our legislative leaders, the Commissioner's office and all the UVSC employees and students for their support of the university initiative.
