Private Scholarships


Privately Funded Scholarships
Awards are a result of the generous donations from individuals and organizations. Recipients are selected through a joint process between the UVSC Foundation, Inc Committee and the individuals and organizations. All awards are subject to available funding and are based on donor's specified criteria. Most of the awards are for Utah Residents only; however, a small portion of the funding can be awarded to non-resident students who meet specified criteria.Privately Funded Scholarships require a 3.0 GPA unless otherwise specified under individual scholarship criteria.
Application Deadlines for Fall 2008-Spring 2009 admittance:

February 1, 2008
for New UVSC Students
March 1, 2008 for Continuing UVSC Students

Need Based Privately Funded Scholarships
Students interested in applying for Need based Privately Funded Scholarships are required to apply for Federal Financial Aid. Students must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). FAFSA applications are due March 15, allowing needed time to have the SAR (Student Aid Report) forms to the Financial Aid Office by the first priority Financial Aid deadline of May 1. Forms can be obtained at the Financial Aid Office or the FAFSA can be filled out on-line by going to http://fafsa.ed.gov.

TO APPLY FOR ACADEMIC MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS

(NEW AND TRANSFER STUDENTS ONLY)

DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 1

FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW

  1. You must be admitted to UVSC/UVU.
  2. Be sure to mark on the Admission Application that you want to be considered for Academic Merit Scholarships. If you are currently a concurrent enrollment student at UVSC/UVU, you have already been admitted.
  3. Submit to the Scholarship Office a copy of your high school transcript (be sure that the first term or semester of the 12th grade is included) or college transcript if you are a transfer student.
  4. Submit to the Scholarship Office a copy of your ACT scores if not on transcript (high school students only).

TO APPLY FOR ALL OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS, FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW:

  1. YOU MUST BE ADMITTED TO UVSC/UVU AND HAVE A PERMANENT UV ID TO APPLY. If not admitted, go to http://www.uvsc.edu/ select Future Student, follow the steps to apply for admission. Plan on applying for admission at least two weeks prior to scholarship application deadline. If you are currently a concurrent enrollment student at UVSC/UVU, you have already been admitted.
  2. login to UVLINK
  3. Select "Student Scholarships & Financial Aid."
  4. From the "My Financial Aid" menu select "2008-2009 Scholarship Application."
  5. Read and follow instruction application to apply
