School of Science & Health - Privately Funded Scholarships
Awards are a result of the generous donations from individuals and organizations. Recipients are selected through a joint process between the UVSC Gifts and Grants Committee and the individuals and organizations. All awards are subject to available funding. All awards are based on donor specified criteria. Application dates for continuing students -
March 1.

NOTE: Unless otherwise stated, all Privately Funded Scholarships require a minimum GPA of 3.0 and students must be enrolled full time (12 credit hours).
Sherman and Sheryle Cloward Endowed Scholarship - Applicants may be those who wish to begin their education in the dental hygiene program.
- Strong financial need must be clearly demonstrated.
C.T. and Barbara D. Greer Nursing Endowed Scholarship
- Student must be a Utah resident.
- Student must submit transcript with application.
- Student must have a minimum of two graded quarters in the Practical Nursing Program.
- Student must express strong financial need and not currently be receiving other financial assistance.
Orville Carl Gunther Family Endowed Scholarship Fund - First consideration will be given to students receiving training in either the skilled mechanical trades or nursing.
- Evidence that applicants are currently working in mechanical trades or nursing profession in Utah County may be considered.
- Single mothers with dependent children shall be given special consideration.
- Financial need receives more consideration than past scholastic achievement.
Kimball T. Harper Endowed Botany Fund - General Academic Scholarship for students in the Botany field.
John K. and Lillian Y. Hayes Endowed Scholarship Fund - Recipient must be enrolled in the School of Science and Health and majoring in Earth Science with an emphasis in the Study of Geology.
Margaret Jenson Scholarship - Student enrolled in the UVSC Nursing Program.
- Financial need must be clearly demonstrated.
- Recipients must maintain a 3.5 GPA.
LPN Association Endowment Scholarship Fund
- Scholarship for benefit of nursing students at UVSC and its successors.
- Awarded in accordance with criteria determined by the College in cooperation with the head of the nursing program.
Nursing Alumni Scholarship - Students must be enrolled in UVSC College of Nursing.
Allyson Walker Ollivier Endowed Nursing Scholarship - Students must be enrolled in UVSC College of Nursing.
Robert K. and Anne S. Peper Endowed Scholarship Fund - Students must be enrolled in UVSC School of Science.
- Financial need must be clearly demonstrated.
Questar Corporation Scholarship - Students must be majoring in pre-engineering or any of the geophysical sciences.
Florence B. Ragan Nursing Scholarship
- Recipient must be enrolled in the College of Nursing.
- Financial need must be clearly demonstrated.
School of Science and Health Faculty/Staff Scholarship
- General Scholarship for students enrolled in the field of Science.
Delance W. and Dorothy H. Squire Endowed Nursing Scholarship
- Student must be in the nursing program at UVSC.
- First priority will be given to a single mother, based on need.
- Financial need must be clearly demonstrated.
Don and Toni Sullivan Endowed Scholarship Fund
- The annual available amount will be split between two students, one in the School of Business and the other from the Nursing Department in the School of Science and Health.
Allen O. Taylor Endowed Scholarship Fund
- Students must be enrolled in the School of Science and pursuing a career opportunity in the science field.
- Financial need must be clearly demonstrated.
Central Utah Clinic Foundation Scholarship
- Recipient is to be a Utah resident, full-time student who has been accepted into the Nursing Program.
- Student’s minimum overall GPA needs to be 3.5, and must submit transcript with application.
- Student must express financial need.
- Student must submit a letter of intent (1 page min; 2 page max.) that should include goals/plans for their career in nursing.
- Student must submit three letters of reference (from community members, employers, etc.)
- Scholarship will be a four-year, eight semester scholarship, or until the completion of a bachelor degree, as long as student maintains a GPA of 3.5 per each semester of the award.
- Student must have shown commitment to community service.
Highland Water Company Heritage Endowed Scholarship
- Recipient must be a full time Utah Valley State College student with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Preference shall be given to residents of Highland City (either the student or his/her parents must be a resident), or an employee of Highland City that is continuing his/her education
- Financial need will be given consideration
- Where possible, the award should be given to a student studying in one of the following areas: health and health care studies, environmental and water related studies, or fire sciences
Cleo Nuttall Ream Endowed Scholarship Fund
- Student must be enrolled at UVSC in the Nursing Program
- Financial need will be given special consideration
- First priority will be given to single parents with dependent children
