School of Technology & Computing - Privately Funded Scholarships


Awards are a result of the generous donations from individuals and organizations. Recipients are selected through a joint process between the UVSC Gifts and Grants Committee and the individuals and organizations. All awards are subject to available funding and based on donor specified criteria. Application dates for new UVSC students - February 1, continuing students - March 1.

NOTE: Unless otherwise stated, all Privately Funded Scholarships require a minimum GPA of 3.0 and students must be enrolled full time (12 credit hours).

Don Arend Memorial Fire Fighters Endowed Scholarship
  1. Student must be enrolled in the Fire Science program at UVSC.
  2. Student must be enrolled for at least six credit hours.
  3. A fire fighter, a child or grandchild of a fire fighter with financial need shall have preference.
  4. No trustee, or employee of the college, or their immediate family shall receive this scholarship.

Auto Expo Scholarship
  1. General Academic Scholarship.
  2. Student must be enrolled in the automotive department.

Richard & Zepha Boggess Scholarship Fund
  1. Student must be a second year student enrolled in the Street Rod classes from the Collision Repair program.
  2. First priority will be given to an out-of-state student
  3. Student must be full-time with a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Norman Cox Family Scholarship
  1. For students in the Auto Collision Repair department.
Mike Crouch Memorial Endowed Scholarship
  1. First priority is for out-of-state automotive students, second, to out-of-state students enrolled in Technology & Computing or to any other worthy students in the Automotive Department.
  2. Scholarship in memory of Mike Crouch, a student who was killed in an automobile accident.

Henry & Jean Davis Endowed Scholarship
  1. Recipient must have completed at least one semester in the Building and Construction program.

Leadership Scholarship for High School Seniors

  1. Awarded to high school students, transfer and current UVSC students
  2. Students must demonstrate leadership qualities
  3. Students must participate in the Leadership Certification Program

International Lineman's Rodeo Association Scholarship
  1. Recipient must be enrolled in the Lineman Technology Program.

Farmer's Insurance Group Scholarship
  1. Scholarship for students in the Collision Repair Training Program.

Nestle/Stouffer Foods Corporation Endowed Scholarship
  1. Scholarship for students enrolled in electronics and refrigeration/air conditioning.

Orville Carl Gunther Family Endowed Scholarship Fund
  1. First consideration will be given to students receiving training in either the skilled mechanical trades or nursing.
  2. Evidence that applicants are currently working in mechanical trades or nursing profession in Utah County may be considered.
  3. Single mothers with dependent children shall be given special consideration.
  4. Financial need receives more consideration than past scholastic achievement.

Intermountain Power Superintendents Association Scholarship
  1. Student must be enrolled in Lineman Technology at UVSC.

Steve and Emilie Johnson TTI/VICA Scholarship
  1. Students must be enrolled in the School of Technology Trades and Industry at UVSC, who place in school, state and national VICA competition.

Miles & Mary Morris Automotive Endowed Scholarship
  1. Scholarship for students enrolled in the Automotive Department.
  2. Recipient must maintain a 2.5 GPA.

George F. and Lilly W. Pearson Trust Scholarship Fund
  1. Student must be pursuing career in manual trades at the UVSC School of Technology & Computing.
  2. No trustor or trustee or related persons shall be a beneficiary of a scholarship.

Florence B. Ragan Aviation Scholarship
  1. Students must be enrolled in the Aviation program.
  2. Recipients must demonstrate financial need.

Florence B. Ragan Culinary Arts Scholarship
  1. Recipient must be a full-time student in the Culinary Arts program.
  2. Students who demonstrate strong financial need will be given priority consideration.

Saitama Auto Diesel Endowed Scholarship
  1. Students must major in the Auto Technical, Collision Repair Technology, or Diesel Mechanics Technology Dept.

School of Technology & Computing Scholarship Fund
  1. Student must be enrolled in School of Technology and Computing at UVSC.

Universal Industrial Sales, Inc. Scholarship
  1. Students must be enrolled in automotives.

UFRA Store Annual Scholarship Fund
  1. Student must be a Fire Science Major.
  2. Student must be registered for at least three credits and must be registered for a minimum of three credits in Fire Science.
  3. Students must be a Utah Full-time, Part-time, or volunteer Firefighter.
  4. Student must submit a written statement of career objectives and a letter of recommendation from the Fire Chief of their fire department.
  5. No trustee or employee of the college, or their immediate family, shall receive this scholarship.
  6. Five $350 scholarships will be awarded per school year.

Utah Valley Home Builders Association Scholarship Fund
  1. Students must be new or continuing UVSC students majoring in Building Construction & Construction Management.
