This seminar provides the 8 hours of refresher training necessary to keep current with your 40 hour training required by OSHA and EPA. If you are handling any hazardous materials (chlorine, etc.) at your facility, you are required to renew this every year.
NOTE: If your facility has 10 or more people who need this, we can bring the course to you and cover areas of specific concern to you. The same is true of the 40 hour course.
This training is for workers at all facilities that need safety training to meet OSHA requirements. 50% of the course is accomplished by covering required topics from OSHA and the other 50% is site specific for your workers. The course can help reduce fines and citations from OSHa by training your workers to be more safety conscious. Show your workers you are serious about safety and help them to reduce accidents, injury, compensation claims and lost time from work. An OSHA approved instructor will guide your workers through safe working habits and meet your safety requirements at the same time. (OSHA 500)
*** Note: Course will run from 9-3 each day with an hour for lunch.
This course goes along with the Risk Management Plan (RMP) that water and wastewater treatment facilities are required to have in place. If your facility has chemicals, (chlorine, caustic soda, potassium permanganate) you are required by OSHA and EPA to have 24 hours of hazmat training for workers that may come in contact with the chemicals or anyone who may have to deal with any kind of spill or release.
This course meets the requirements of Part 1910.120 of the OSHA standards for hazardous materials training and EPA´s 165.5 training requirements for hazardous materials handlers. Anyone handling any kind of hazardous materials in industry needs this course. All participants successfully completing this course will receive a certificate of completion along with a dated wallet card for proof of certified training. Seminar materials include Training Manual, Student Workbook, and Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards by NIOSH.
NOTE: If your facility has 10 or more people who need this, we can bring the course to you and cover areas of specific concern to you. The same is true of the 8 hour course.
This course is designed to familiarize you with the hazards pertaining to blood borne pathogens in your industry and the correct ways to avoid them. Topics will include: what OSHA standards apply, reporting and record keeping, workplace risks and transmission as well as prevention methods to be used in your work environment such as sanitary issues, engineering design, vaccinations and safe work practices.
In 1990 the Occupational Safety and Health Administration established a new excavation safety rule that requires a competent person to supervise ANY trenching or excavation work. Every year we have taught this to a small group, though we hear of a trench failing and someone being killed often. This course will provide the necessary training to meet the competent person requirement. Traffic awareness and safety will also be covered.
Every year people die in confined spaces. Poor planning and training in this area can be fatal. Confined space entry training will assist operators to have proper plans and procedures to ensure safety. Proper instrumentation for the employee will be addressed.
* Note: This course will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with an hour break for lunch (on your own).
