Tests Administered

TESTS DESCRIPTION
ADA UVSC Testing Services is an official test site for the American Dental Association Dental Board Exams.
Ability To Benefit Tests (ATB) These tests are approved and regulated by the US Department of Education. Students who wish to apply for various financial benefits must take an ATB test and pass it, in order to be eligible for assistance.
ACT National Test To take the ACT National Test you must send in your registration form or apply online at www.act.org.
ACT Residual Test As of January 1, 2008, the ACT Residual Test will be offered every Thursday at 8:30 a.m. It costs $35. All candidates must come into our office at least 24 hours in advance to register. Please bring a valid government issued photo identification and your payment in cash at the time of registration. Scores to this test are only valid here at UVSC. A sixty day waiting period is required before retaking the ACT Residual. For more information, please call (801)863-8269.
CAAP Writing Essay CAAP is administered every Thursday at 3:00 p.m. The cost is $30.00. All candidates must come into our office at least 24 hours in advance to register. Please bring a valid government issued photo identification and your payment in cash at the time of registration. CLEP The College-Level Examination Program. enables students to take tests in various areas and receive class credit depending upon the scores received. For more information, please contact us at (801)863-8544.
COMPASS ESL The COMPASS ESL is offered on a walk-in basis. If you are a UVSC student, it is free the first time and $30.00 for every retake. If you are a non-UVSC student, the cost is $30.00.
DWS Typing Test The DWS Typing Test is offered free of charge every Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00pm. You will need to call (801) 863-8269 to set up an appointment. You MUST bring a picture ID.

GED

The GED will be re-formatted as of January 1, 2011. All non-passed GED tests will be invalid.

The General Education Development Test (GED) is administered to individuals who have not received their high school diploma and need an equivalency test. The GED is offered every Tuesday at 8:30 am. All candidates must come into our office at least 24 hours in advance to register. Please bring a valid government issued photo identification and your payment in cash at the time of registration. Graduate Testing [GRE, GMAT, etc.] UVSC does not currently administer any graduate-level exams. The Sylvan Learning Center, located at 65 West Center St. Orem, UT, offers an extensive list of computerized graduate-level tests. Call 235-1800 for more information and registration.
Health Occupations Aptitude Examination The Health Occupations Aptitude Examination is offered to students who are interested in applying for the Dental Hygiene Program. The exam is offered every Tuesday at 5:30 pm. The cost is $20.00. All candidates must come into our office at least 24 hours in advance to register. Please bring a valid government issued photo identification and your payment in cash at the time of registration. TEAS The TEAS Exam is offered to students who are applying for the Nursing Program at UVSC. The TEAS exam is a computerized exam that is offered on a walk-in basis Monday-Friday during office hours. It is requested that you call 801-863-8269 the same day prior to the time in which you would like to test. We can then let you know what time the TEAS will be available. You must have a written approval from the Nursing Department to take the exam. The cost is $35.00 and each candidate must have valid picture ID.
SAT National Test
To take the SAT National Test you must send in your registration form or apply online at www.ets.org.
New Student Assessment (COMPASS)
FAQs

The New Student Assessment (NSA) is required for all first-time students who do not have current ACT/SAT scores. The NSA is a reading, writing, and math placement test. It is part of the Personal Educational Planning services. 

UVSC Students ONLY: The NSA is given on a walk-in basis Monday-Friday during office hours, with the last test given out 2 hours prior to closing. The test is free for newly admitted students testing for the first time. Retakes cost $10 per section.

Non-UVSC Students: The NSA is offered by APPOINTMENT only. Please contact our Proctor Exam Center at (801)863-8544 to set an appointment. Appointments must be set at least 24 hours in advance. The NSA costs $50.00 for non-UVSC students.

Police Officer Selection Test As of January 1, 2008, the Police Officer Selection Test will be offered every Thursday at 1:00 p.m. The cost is $25.00. All candidates must come into our office at least 24 hours in advance to register. Please bring a valid government issued photo identification and your payment in cash at the time of registration. Business Proficiency The cost is $25.00.  Available in the Proctor Exam Center. Please call (801)863-8544 at least 24 hours in advance to set an appointment.
