UVSC IBO Policy & Procedures

International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme

In recognition of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme sponsored by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), students who complete IB subjects in high school through an approved IB World School and receive scores of 5, 6, or 7 may be granted credits at UVSC. Credit will be posted as a "CR" grade and will not be calculated in the GPA. Duplicate credit will not be awarded for corresponding AP, CLEP or courses previously completed at UVSC or other College/University.

Credit is granted according to the policy in effect at the time UVSC receives the IB Transcript. Policies are subject to change. Please refer to our Transfer Articulation database under the institution name of "IBO Int'l Baccalaureate Program" for questions you may have regarding what courses are granted at UVSC for specific IB subjects, levels and grades.

Standard Level (SL) subjects are typically granted 3 credits.
Higher Level (HL) subjects are typically granted 6 credits.
If the Diploma is earned, students may receive up to 30 semester credits at UVSC.

Students desiring to have credits granted at UVSC for IB subjects must request an Official IB Transcript be sent to UVSC's Admissions Office at the following address:
