All Veterans who attend UVSC should contact the UVSC Veterans Office to make sure all required forms have been filled out and the VA Certification has been sent. 
 
Chapter 30: Montgomery GI Bill
Chapter 30 veterans are those who have entered Active Duty on or after June 30, 1985. These veterans have contributed $100 a month for 12 months to their educational fund. The amount of money to which they are entitled varies.
All paper work for this chapter needs to be sent directly to:

VARO (Veterans Administration Regional Office)
P.O. Box 8888
Muskogee, OK 74402-8888

These veterans are issued certificate of attendance forms from the regional office in Oklahoma that must be completed each month in order to receive payment.

Chapter 31: Disabled Veterans
All paperwork for disabled veterans is handled by the Vocational Rehabilitation Division of the VARO in Salt Lake City. (1-800-827-1000) Veterans applying for benefits should contact this office to complete their applications and enrollment certification forms. Once a disabled veteran has been certified through the Salt Lake Office, the necessary forms are sent to the Veteran's Office here at UVSC to be completed and returned. This will assure entitlement. Please contact the UVSC Veterans Office for other required forms.

Chapter 32: Veterans Educational Assistance Program
Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP) veterans are those who have initially entered active duty on or after January 1, 1977, through June 30, 1985, and have contributed a portion of their paychecks to the VEAP Program. Monthly rates vary and are based on contributions and kickers. The actual amount of entitlement is computed by the VARO in Salt Lake City.(1-800-827-1000)

Chapter 35: Dependents of Veterans
Dependent children and spouses of veterans may be eligible for educational assistance if the veteran fits into one of the following categories:
  • Died in service
  • Died as a result of a service-connected disability
  • Became permanently and totally disabled as a result of a service connected disability
  • Died while a disability so evaluated was in existence
  • Listed as missing in action
  • Captured
  • Detained
  • Interned in the line of duty by a foreign government

If so entitled, they may receive up to 45 months of benefits. Age limitations for dependent children is 26. Spouses have a 10-year delimiting date from the date found eligible.

Chapter 1606: Educational Assistance for Members of Selected Reserves
The Reserve Components include the Army Reserve, Naval Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Army National Guard, and Air National Guard, which is under the Department of Defense (DOD), and the Coast Guard Reserve, which is under Department of Transportation (DOT), when it is not operating as service in the Navy.

To be eligible, the Chapter 1606 veteran must comply with the following:
  • Completed high school
  • Have a six-year enlistment
  • Completed basic and advanced training
  • Drilling in good standing
Chapter 1607: REAP
A new benefit providing educational assistance to members of the reserve components - Selected Reserve (Sel Res) and Individual Reserve (IRR) - who are called or ordered to active service in response to a war or national emergency, as declared by the President or Congress.
The Reserve Components include the Army Reserve, Naval Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve, Army National Guard, Air National Guard, Army IRR, Air Force IRR, Naviy IRR and Marine Corps IRR.
Active Service is service on active duty or full-time National Guard duty.
