BOARD OF TRUSTEES MESSAGE
These are exciting times at Utah Valley State College. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we invite you to visit the campus and witness the activity, and experience the energy (“UVUphoria!”) being generated as UVSC prepares to become Utah Valley University on July 1, 2008.
Utah Valley University will remain committed to being a student-centered teaching institution. President Sederburg recently introduced a program called the "Community of Engaged Learners." It is aimed at helping faculty, staff and students be more involved in the community. Communities of engaged learners are built by developing students and employees to be people of integrity who are good stewards of place (their community) and professionally competent in their chosen professions.
The new library, presently under construction and on schedule for a July completion, will surely become the heart of the University. The constant progress on this beautiful building prompts one to visualize our University students gathering to study, share, and develop themselves personally in building successful and productive lives.
As Trustees, we commend those who were instrumental in obtaining university status and additional funding for the institution. President Sederburg led the team of those who contributed time, talent and resources from within the College and the community. We recognize and greatly appreciate support from the Board of Regents and the Commissioner's Office. We thank Senator John Valentine and our legislators who worked with him in gaining a unanimous favorable vote in both the House and the Senate.
As Trustees, we invite you to get involved. We value your input. Visit the campus. Continue to contribute your time and resources. This is your University of the future. The success of the "U" is about YOU!"
